The Challenge
Cash That Time experiments with themes on both time and money. The video follows the life of a £5 note from birth to death. The challenge was to create a quirky yet meaningful story to help change peoples perspectives on how we should value our time and stop chasing money.

Storyboard & Sketches
When storyboarding I took into consideration, the scene, the movement and how each scene would transition into the next.

The Design Approach
A lot of thought went into the illustration style of the video. Working with a small yet niche colour palette, I focussed on making bold designs using solid block background colours. The illustrations of people, animals and objects were designed with minimal features. This was done to put more focus on the £5 note, which was coloured black and white to attract the audience's attention in relation to the background.

Animation
All animation took place in Adobe After Effects. Character animation was achieved with the RubberHose plugin, used to build customisable limbs and pre-rigged joints. Creating realism in animalistic movements proved challenging, however, this was overcome using the Puppet Pin tool.

Learnings
Allow for extra time
Although a time management plan was created, designing illustrations overran to what was previously expected. This resulted in less time being allocated to animating which led to no time to seek critical user feedback. It was therefore learnt that allowing for extra time for off-days or mistakes is essential to creating a successful project.
